What does birth support look like practically?        
                           
I offer clients dedicated, gentle, and practical support in the following
ways:        

  •   Information & Resources:  
    Both before and during birth, I provide information about
    options you may not be aware of and ways you can prepare to
    have a more gentle birth.  Into the postpartum period as well, I
    help you access valuable resources.
                       
  •   Comfort measures:  
  •   massage &  pressure therapy
  •   relaxation coaching &  verbal support
  •   use of various labor aids such as positions and movement,    
      water and heat therapy, and vocalization
       
  •   Confidence:   
    I bring reassurance to moms and families during birth.   
    Confidence is contagious and facilitates an easier birth.
       
  •   Whole family support:
    I do not replace Dad in his role of supporting Mom.  Instead, I
    come alongside the whole family to offer whatever support may
    be beneficial in a given moment.  In my experience, a dad and a
    doula make an ideal support duo for a birthing mom.  
       
   
Backup doula:  
   It is important to me that my clients are completely satisfied with their
back-up doula, whom they have the opportunity to interview and to get to
know during a prenatal visit.
   
   
Fees:
    Due to the number of variables surrounding doula work, I use a flexible
payment system.  Please inquire for further details.
